Rep. Kriseman Letter Detailing the Problems with the New PIP Law

This week, outgoing State Rep. Rick Kriseman, of St. Petersburg, wrote a very detailed letter to Governor Scott, detailing all of the huge and very real problems with the New PIP Law, HB 119. You can read the letter at http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/the-buzz-florida-politics/content/pip-reform-legislation-full-errors-kriseman-says.

We are now only 30 days away from when the first effects and provisions of this very bad law will start affecting accident victims and their doctors. Thus, it is imperative that the Governor and his staff, as well as the Legislature take a good hard look in the mirror.

The most shocking detail of the letter is that Rep. Kriseman revealed that he is getting calls from folks in his district, where insurers are telling them that their auto insurance rates are going up due to the New PIP bill. The whole purpose of the reform was to lower rates! This shows what an epic failure this law is sure to be.

I commend Rep Kriseman for taking the time to step forward and call this law exactly what it is, a mess.

Knowledge Equals Power in Orlando Auto Accident Cases

I hope you all will join me and Rep. Kriseman in continuing to push the Florida Legislature to consider real auto insurance reform, by instituting Mandatory Bodily Injury Insurance.
